Saturday's stakes action began with the $65,000 Say Florida Sandy Stakes for older New York-breds sprinting 6 furlongs on the main track. 3-2 favorite Big Apple Daddy was outrun early, racing a distant fifth down the backstretch and on the turn, then launched a four-wide rally entering the stretch to prevail by a length over 8-5 pacesetter Gold And Roses in 1:09.28. It was another 1 1/2 lengths back to 10-1 Yankee Mon in third.
