A field of seven older fillies and mares contested the $300,00 Fleur de Lis Handicap (G2) at 1 1/8 miles on the main track. 3-1 third choice Indian Vale stalked the pace of 35-1 Fiery Pursuit through a half in 47.32, then took over the lead at the top of the stretch and pulled away to a 1 1/2 length win over 5-2 Asi Siempre in 1:49.12. It was just a neck back to 10-1 Kettleoneup, while 2-1 favorite Ermine was fourth.
Winning jockey John Velazquez said, "She was much better this time out. Last time she was in a sloppy track and she was bottled the whole race. This time, I helped her a bit with positioning so she could feel the other horses outside of her, and she went right on. She's good at the distance, but the track helped her more than anything else."
