The $100,000 Sir Barton Stakes saw seven 3-year-olds go 1 1/16 miles on the main track. 4-1 shot High Cotton led at every call and drew off through the stretch to win by 5 1/2 lengths in a time of 1:42.95. 11-10 favorite Ah Day disappointed in fifth. Winning jockey Garrett Gomez said, "He left in good shape. We actually went pretty quick. He got a little breather around the first turn and up the backside. He’s a decent little horse and he does things nice. He’s professional. When he got a little pressure, he was up to the task. The more pressure he got the better he was. When I turned for home, I cut him loose and I got the response I was looking for."
