The $100,000 Hirsch Jacobs (G3) featured three-year-olds sprinting 6 furlongs on the main track. Edgar Prado and 3-5 favorite Songster easily outclassed this field, taking the lead right out of the gate and gradually drawing away to a 10 length lead at the finish, in a time of 1:09.72 over the fast track. Winning jockey Edgar Prado said, "There’s not much to say really. He broke running out of the gate and it was all over. He did it all by himself. In a few strides he was clear of that other horse and galloping along nice and easy. There was plenty left. He came back like he didn’t even run."
