The first stakes race on Saturday was the $100,000 Fort Harrod Stakes. A field of seven older horses contesting the marathon distance of 1 5/8 miles around three turns of the polytrack. Poison Pill contested the early pace with Jade's Revenge through a slow early pace of 49.14 and 1:15.18. After a mile in 1:41.46, Poison Pill dropped to last allowing Jade's Revenge to pull away, opening up a 3 length lead in mid stretch after 1 1/4 miles in 2:05.79 and 1 1/2 miles in 2:31.39. Save Big Money, last early, put in a late rally but was no match for Jade's Revenge who cruised under the line 3 3/4 lengths clear in a new track record time of 2:42.69. It was just a nose back to High Blues in third, while favorite Rathor was fifth.

Winning jockey Edgar Prado said, "I just wanted to keep him happy the first part of the race. He was very comfortable galloping along. I just wanted to have something left over for the finish."
