Turfway Park is Kentucky racing's winter home and its major Triple Crown prep is the $500,000 Lane's End Stakes (G2) at 1 1/8 miles on Polytrack. The longest shot on the board, 49-1 shot With a City, shocked the crowd by upsetting the field of twelve. Jockey Brice Blanc kept him back in sixth early on, well off the pace of 1:11.88 for 3/4, but set him to a drive rounding the far turn and drove right on by the leaders in mid-stretch to draw 1 1/4 lengths clear over the fast surface, completing the distance in 1:51.11. Favorite Silent Times was eleventh while Nick Zito-trained Superfly and Hemingway's Key were fifth and sixth respectively. His owner Ron Peltz immediately nominated With a City for the Triple Crown, right at the deadline for late nominations.
