2012 Withers Stakes day at Aqueduct

The first stakes race on Saturday was the $100,000 Correction Stakes for older fillies and mares sprinting 6 furlongs on the inner track. 4-1 second choice Winning Image battled for the lead with 9-1 Golden Mystery through a quarter in 23.18 and a half in 46.78 before tring badly at the 3/16 pole. 1-2 favorite Nicole H, who stalked the pace third early, easily took command from the tiring pacesetters, drawing off to win by 2 1/2 lengths over 23-1 Honchis'n Ponchis in 1:11.08. It was another length back to Golden Mystery third.
