Jockey Joel Rosario sent Pacific Ocean to the lead exiting the chute and he set early fractions of 23.19 and 46.67 while as many as 2 1/2 lengths ahead of 7-1 Crossbow stalking in second. Pacific Ocean continued to lead into the stretch, getting 3/4 in 1:10.12. 8-1 Golddigger's Boy, third early, rallied late but to no avail as Pacific Ocean finished up 1 3/4 lengths in front in 1:22.53.
