Raced 11 times as a 2-year-old and didn't break his maiden until his 6th start. Was a dismal 10th in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, but followed that up with wins in an allowance at Churchill and the Sugar Bowl Stakes at the Fair Grounds. Was 3rd to Hard Spun in the Lecomte Stakes but turned the tables on him to win in the Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn last out. Came back to run a distant third to Curlin in the Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn, then set the slow pace in the Blue Grass only to finish fourth by a neck in a blanket finish.
