Broke his maiden at Belmont Park, then won the Sanford Stakes and finished second to Circular Quay in the Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga. Came back to win the Champagne Stakes at Belmont before finishing a well beaten 4th in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Made his first start of the year in the Holy Bull Stakes at Gulfstream where he faded to third after battling Nobiz Like Shobiz through most of the race, then won the Fountain of Youth rallying late to catch Stormello at the line. In his final prep, won the Florida Derby by 1 1/4 lengths over Notional.
