Hong Kong's local hero and Sprint hopeful Silent Witness (on the rail) worked in company with stablemate Regency Horse (outside) over the dirt track, galloping a quick 400 meters in 21.6 seconds. He is best known for breaking Cigar and Citation's modern win-streak record, winning 17 straight races. Trainer Tony Cruz said, "The horse is healthy and I still think he has got what it takes and he can win this race again. He's a big, gross horse, and the more you train him, somehow the more weight he puts on - but you have to live that. The main thing right now is that he's healthy." Jockey Felix Coetzee added, "You can't ask for any more than that."
