Family Friendly Tracks

Canterbury Park Saint Paul, MN
Offers a playground area and designates Sundays as family days where they have various activities set up for younger children such as a batting cage and pony rides. Free admission for children 17 and under if accompanied by an adult.

Delaware Park Wilmington, DE
They have a great "park-like setting" area, playground for the kids, picnic benches, and cookout area located on the clubhouse turn. Nice place to be away from the gambling crowd but near the paddock area and with a good view of the track.

Del Mar Del Mar, CA
Nice playground in the infields and lots of special events like a daily camp and family fun days on the weekends.

Emerald Downs Seattle, Washington
Have a great outdoor family picnic area, pony rides, petting zoo, bubble blowing, live music, an inflatable moon-walk area, and a chance to see a mare with her foal.

Lone Star Park Grand Prairie, TX
Has s 15-acre Family Fun Park with pony rides, a ferris wheel, a petting zoo, and a kid's playground.

Monmouth Park Monmouth, NJ
Large outdoor picnic area, playground area staffed by an attendant with sandbox, swings, monkey bars, etc., and special events like free pony rides, face painting, clowns, magicians, etc.

New York Racing Association New York, NY and Saratoga Springs, NY
All three NYRA tracks have special features for the kids but the best are Belmont with it's large backyard area and Saratoga which also has a large backyard plus lots of other activities and tours.

Harness Horse Youth Foundation
The Harness Horse Youth Foundation focuses on educating young people about harness racing and developing their interest in the sport. Nice page for kids.

Junior Jockey Club at Churchill Downs
For kids 12 and under. Lets you meet the jockeys, visit the playground, and win prizes.

Keeneland Coloring Book
A really nice coloring book with several pages to print.

Kids' Club from TOBA
Lots of interesting stuff including a coloring book, stories, and art.

Kids' Stuff
Lots of horse related kids' sites from the Hay Net.

Kids Stuff from Santa Anita
Still under construction but does have a coloring book.

Pony Pals Kids Club
Program for kids from Pimlico and Laurel in Maryland. Includes special events and barn tours.

Seacrest Stables
Stories and poems for horse-crazy kids. Includes stories posted by kids and even a cyberserial! Lots of interesting stuff here.

Thoroughbred Fan Clubs
A directory of all the various fan clubs with links to their sites, the president, and number of members. Most are done by and for kids.
