2005 Breeders Crown Results

For driver Brian Sears, it was his third Breeders Crown victory of the night. With more than $1 million in purse earnings on the night, his 2005 topped $14.4 million, the all time highest one-year total. He said, "I was waiting for him to come back to me a little bit. I wound up second over the head of the lane. I couldn't ask for a better trip. The horse showed his class and raced super. There's no question about that." Asked about setting the earnings record, Sears said, "It's something I'll look back on. It's a great accomplishment. I just want to thank Brett (trainer Pelling) for the opportunity. I've gotten to drive some great horses for him over the last couple years. He will certainly be missed."
