Artistic Fella, the 2006 Meadowlands Pace champion, extended his winning streak to 10 in the first of two $125,000 Oliver Wendell Holmes divisions for three-year-old colt and gelding pacers on Saturday afternoon at the Meadowlands. Driven by Cat Manzi and trained by Steve Elliott, 1-5 favorite Artistic Fella recorded his third straight 1:48.4 clocking as he drew off to a three-length victory over 8-1 Perfect Union and 5-1 Feelin Friskie. Artistic Fella has won 10 of 14 starts this season, and 13 of 18 lifetime, for owner Joseph Alborano of New Egypt, New Jersey. His victories also include the Berrys Creek and Robert J. Suslow finals.
6-5 favorite Took Hanover, with John Campbell at the lines, breezed to a 1:49 victory in the second Oliver Wendell Holmes division. Took Hanover notched his third win in eight starts this season for trainer Noel Daley and owners Adam Victor and Son Stable of New York, New York and John Fielding of Toronto, Ontario.
