The $1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup at Mohawk Racetrack features the best 3-year-old pacers going the standard 1 mile distance. After 2 scratches, only 8 of the originally drawn field of 10 made the starting gate, with elimination winners Tell All, Sutter Hanover, and Yankee Skyscaper all going off at around 5-2. Temperatures in the mid-70's with no wind and low humidity made for ideal racing conditions at the 7-furlong oval in Campbellville, Ontario.

Artriverderci led the procession first time past the grandstand and into the backstretch through a 1/4 in 26.2 before Yankee Skyscraper took over the lead after a half in 54.3. Kenneth J moved up to second position while favorite Tell All was parked wide in fourth down the backstretch and around the final turn. At the quarter pole, Yankee Skyscaper still led, getting 6 furlongs in 1:23.2, but Jody Jamieson had pulled the plugs on Tell All as he made his charge for the lead. Tell All collared Yankee Skyscaper in mid stretch and drew off to win by 2 lengths over Sutter Hanover in a time of 1:50.3 over a fast track. Yankee Skyscaper tired badly after being passed and fell back to sixth at the finish.
