The €250,000 Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp Majestic Barriere de Cannes (G1) is the shortest race of the weekend, contested at 1000 meters (about 5 furlongs) on a straightaway, open to all ages. 6-1 second choice Benbaun tracked the early leaders, then with 400 meters remaining, took over the lead when asked by jockey Pat Smullen and drew off to win by 2 lengths in a final time of 56.70. 2-1 favorite and the only 2-year-old in the field, Kingsgate Native, was second, 2 lengths ahead of 19-1 third place finisher Desert Lord.
