The Qatar Prix Chaudenay (G2) is a 3000-meter (about 1 7/8 mile) trip for 3-year-olds. 3-1 second choice Centennial set the pace early while being stalked by 11-1 Hindu Kush. The pair battled all the way to mid-stretch, when 7-2 third choice Watar, slowest at the break, closed well on the outside to take the lead at the 1/16 and drew off late to win by 5 lengths over 9-10 favorite Shemima in 3:10.70. It was just 1/2 a length back to pacesetter Centennial third.
