The 300,000-euro Prix Marcel Boussac Criterium des Pouliches Royal Barriere de Deauville (G1) featured a field of thirteen juvenile fillies at 1600 meters (about 1 mile). 19-1 longshot Finsceal Beo put in a spectacular performance, closing from seventh at the top of the stretch to take over the lead at the 3/16 under the controls of jockey Kevin Manning. She drew away in the final furlong to win by 5 widening lengths over 22-1 longshot Darrfonah, stopping the teletimer in a stakes record of 1:34.90. 4-1 shot Legerete rallied late but finished a neck back of Darfonah in the show spot. 3-1 favorite Poltava led in the early stages but had nothing left in the tank through the stretch to hold off the closers, finishing a disappointing fourth.
