Purge at Vinery

Cindy Pierson Dulay
Purge finished his racing career in late November, winning the Grade 1 Cigar Mile by 3 3/4 lengths, earning a 111 Beyer. As a 3-year-old he won the Jim Dandy and Peter Pan Stakes, and was second in the Rebel at Oaklawn. His 6 victories from 15 starts were by a combined margin of almost 40 lengths. The son of Pulpit retired to Vinery Kentucky and will stand for a $20,000. Vinery staff paraded him out for the crowd attending the open house, and he still looked like he could return to the track if he needed to. Click here for more photos of the Vinery stallions.
