Winning trainer Wayne Catalano said, "Mr.
(Frank) Calabrese turned down a lot of money for this horse. He
said to me, 'Wayne, I want to take her to the big dance.' She was placed
very well from the one hole. We had to use her a little more than we
wanted early, but after that it went the way I thought it would. She's got speed. From there, I just thought they'd be
chasing us and that's how it went. Jockey Rene Douglas added, "I'm still
dreaming. I've said all along that this is the best filly I've ever
ridden. She's very special. I was a bit concerned about the (rail)
post. She's amazing....the best filly I've ever ridden. She proved it
today, and you haven't seen all of her yet. I know she won, but your
going to see more from her."

Dreaming of Anna wins the 2006 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies

The first Championship race of the day was the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), a 1 1/16 mile trip around 2 turns at Churchill Downs for 2-year-old fillies. Dreaming of Anna was the 5-2 favorite over 3-1 Cash Included and 5-1 Octave. As expected., Dreaming of Anna exploded out of the gate and took the lead right away, leading the field through fractions of 23.72 and 47.96 while battling on the front end with 21-1 Appealing Zophie down the backstretch. Turning for home, Octave came out to challenge the pacesetter but Dreaming of Anna had plenty left for the stretch. When asked for run by Rene Douglas, the favorite shook off Octave and pulled away to win by 1 1/2 lengths in 1:43.81. It was another 1 1/4 lengths back to 19-1 Cotton Blossom in third.
