Wednesday morning at Santa Anita started off rather chilly with temperatures in the mid 50's and dense fog shrouding the San Gabriel Mountains. Despite sunrise after 7am, the fog failed to lift until after 9am, and the temperature again climbed up to the 80's.
Class Included galloped 12 furlongs under exercise rider Donny Smith in preparation for the Ladies Classic. Kay Cooper, daughter and assistant to trainer Jim Penney said, "She loves it down here. She loves the ambiance at Santa Anita, the big crowd and all of the excitement. She's thriving in this environment and is doing awesome. I know that this is a very tough race, her toughest yet. And I know that she's going to try her best. What I don't know is just how good our filly is, because she has always done everything so easy."
