The 2006 Breeders' Cup World Championships are history now and there were many memorable images from the day. The weather was nice with sunny skies early, although clouds rolled in later on, and temperatures were in the 50's so a good crowd of 75,132 showed up to enjoy racing's biggest day. The wagering records for both common pool sources and on-track handle were broken with totals of $136,726,378 and $18,259,971 respectively. These both eclipsed the previous records by a wide margin.
