Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G2)
Distance: 1 Mile (Turf)
Conditions: 3 Year Olds and Up
Distance: $1 Million
Post Time: 4:50pm

A total of 22 horses were pre-entered for the Juvenile Fillies Turf but only 14 made the final field on October 31, as some withdrew or opted to go in other races. Two additional horses were listed as also-eligibles in case of a scratch.

The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G2) is one of the newest Championship races. It was added to the program in 2008 at Santa Anita, and is contested at 1 mile on the turf, restricted to two-year-old fillies only. In just three runnings, so far no owner or trainer has repeated as a winner in the event. The fastest running was in 2009 at Santa Anita when Tapisfly came home in 1:34.25 under Robby Albarado for owner Frank Jones and trainer Dale Romans, while the slowest was in 2010 when More than Real completed the trip at Churchill Downs in 1:36.61 under Garrett Gomez for owner Bobby Flay and trainer Todd Pletcher. More than Real is the longest priced winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, paying $29.20, while the shortest priced winner was Tapitsfly at $9.80. The inaugural winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf was Maram in 2008 at Santa Anita. The race was ungraded for its first two runnings and was upgraded to Grade 2 for the 2010 edition by the Graded Stakes Committee of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association. There are four Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" races for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. They are the Moyglare Stud Stakes (G1) at the Curragh in Ireland, the Natalma Stakes (G3) at Woodbine Racetrack in Canada, the Shadwell Fillies' Mile (G1) at Newmarket Racecourse in the United Kingdom, and the J. P. Morgan Chase Jessamine Stakes (G3) at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky.
