Horse of a Different Color: A Tale of Breeding Geniuses, Dominant
Females, and the Fastest Derby Winner Since Secretariat
by Jim Squires
This book takes you through the highs and lows of the
breeding business in the eyes of a novice breeder -- the lows of seeing
your yearlings fail to meet their reserve bids in auction, and the high
of seeing the horse you bred win the Kentucky Derby. Jim Squires' style
worked perfectly, keeping the reader smiling the whole way through, and
conveying his emotions with perfection. The book comes with a 16 page
photo insert including photos of Monarchos's parents, and the colt as a
3 month old already looking like a champion.
