1997 in Review
Dateline: 12/26/97
1997 was a year of big highs and deep lows for racing. We had the thrill of a near miss at the Triple Crown by Silver Charm and a real Triple Crown winner in pacer Western Dreamer. On the flip side, we lost racing greats Forego and Eddie Arcaro among others, saw the closing of Arlington International, and watched with dismay as the number of injuries and fatal breakdowns seemed to increase greatly.
As all our racers pass their official January 1st birthday, here are some links to recaps of the top stories of 1997 to reminisce over.
