Europeans Prep for the Japan Cup

Dateline: 11/24/00

Results and race photos

Europe has four representatives at the Japan Cup this year, three from the U.K. and one from France. They had their final works Friday morning at Tokyo Racecourse, more popularly known locally as Fuchu Racecourse, and photographer Bill Selwyn from the U.K. was there to take pictures. I should have photos from both the Japan Cup and the Japan Cup Dirt later this weekend.

  • Japan Cup results - local 2-1 favorite TM Opera O won by a neck over longshot Japanese entry Meisho Doto with Godolphin's Fantastic Light a nose back in third. John's Call finished 9th. Several nice photos by Bill Selwyn including the finish of both races.
  • Japan Cup Dirt results - Japan's Wing Arrow and Sunford City first and second with Lord Sterling from the USA third in a new track record time of 2:07.2
  • Japan Cup entries - with post positions, weights, country, and more.
  • Japan Cup links - for more info and news from both races
