Breeders' Cup Sprint Results
Dateline: 11/08/99
The Sprint was another wide open race. Forestry, who had been off since August, was a slight favorite over Artax with both at 3.7-1. Artax lept out of the gate and never looked back, setting blazing fractions if 22.04, 44.06, 55.83, and a final time of 1:07.89. This tied Mr. Prospector's track record since it rounds off to 1:07 4/5. It was nice to see Artax win after his brush with disaster on Preakness Day when the crazed fan ran out on the track to take a punch at him.
