The Mile was a wide open race and the wagering showed this as the favorite was Hawksley Hill at a lukewarm 3.7-1. Speed definitely wasn't the key in this race as early leader Garbu faded to 13th while the top three finishers rallied from 10th, 11th, and 12th early on. Very exciting race with a close finish, less than a length separated the top four places.
