Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf Results
Dateline: 11/08/99
The inaugural running of the Filly and Mare Turf was a good one with a very classy field of distaff turfers entered. Soaring Softly vindicated her selection as favorite with a nice rally from 8th place to a 3/4 length victory over Coretta. The German mare Borgia, second in the 1997 Turf, only managed a 5th place showing here.
