Breeders' Cup Workouts

Dateline: 11/02/00

I went to the backside today and got to watch quite a few Breeders' Cup entrants working on the track, including several of the foreign horses who galloped over the turf course. The barn area was quite crowded both with all the extra horses and horsemen in for the Cup but also with media from all over the world. It is quite an exciting atmosphere. Here are a few picture from the morning for your enjoyment.

Juvenile favorite Flame Thrower was getting a bath after cooling out.

Trailthefox, also in the Juvenile, was out on the track this morning too.

Mile longshot North East Bound was out doing an easy gallop.

Distaff contender Heritage of Gold was a handful as she was leaving the track.

Japanese sprinter Agnes World was surrounded by her connections so I never got a clear shot of her.

Sir Michael Stoute sent out Petrushka (F/M Turf) and Kalanisi (Turf) to gallop together.

Mile longshot Walkslikeaduck looked nice in his gallop.

Godolphin's Turf entrant, Mutamam, was very fractious and seemed very difficult to control.

Distant Music in his final preparations for the Mile.

Maltese Superb, the other Japanese entrant, has morning line odds of 50-1 in the Filly and Mare Turf.

Irish bred Goldamix who will contest the Filly and Mare Turf) gallops by.

Arkadian Hero galloped with his jocky Jamie Spencer up.

Indian Lodge will start at 10-1 morning line odds in the Mile.

The Aga Kahn's Kalanisi will be second favorite in the Turf.

New Hall of Fame jockey Julie Krone was out galloping a horse on the turf this morning.

Scenic shot of horses leaving the track for the barn area.

Horses cooling out under the trees behind the barns. I think this is Kalanisi and Petrushka again.
