Travers Day

Dateline: 08/29/98

More Saratoga coverage:
Thursday
Friday
Sunday
The beautiful weather of the last two days disappeared today at least during the first few races as a light raing moved through the area. It wasn't enought to make the track wet but it ran many of the fans under cover.

Despite this the crowd was large and the racing was great. Here are the results with photos of each:

Victory Gallop in the paddock, a very impressive looking horse.

Coronado's Quest leaving the paddock. They did a very good job of always keeping a pony horse between him and the crowd. I did get a nice photo of him entering the paddock from the back with my regular camera.

The horses go by the stands the first time. You can already see the final order of finish in the outside 3 horses, Coronado's Quest (4), Victory Gallop (1), and Raffie's Majesty (7).
