Bill Mahaney says he is 83 years old and was at Longacres the first day they opened in 1933. He walked hots then for 5 cents a horse!

Donna Wolf organized the reunion. After several people from the old Longacres track passed away this winter, she decided to organize a reunion to say hello to people that had not returned to racing in the Pacific Northwest -- and to visit with those that were able to stick around. Over 200 people attended this reunion and although many could not make it they asked about another one in the future.

Jockeys Vicky (formerly Aragon) and Gary Baze at the reunion.

The late Izzy Byrd was a very popular lady at Longacres, she ran the tack shop her and her late husband Milan started. Her daughter Donna Wolf, who organized the reunion, returned to the track in 1991 when her mother died and now runs the tack shop at Emerald Downs.

Sally Steinter and her husband Joe run the Quarter Chute cafe on the backside at Emerald Downs and helped with the food for the reunion.
