Longacres Reunion

Dateline: 08/17/00

Longacres opened in 1933 and was the hub of racing in Washington State until it was sold to Boeing Corp. and subsquently closed in 1992. It was almost three years before racing returned to the Seattle area when Emerald Downs opened in 1996. Last weekend was the Longacres reunion at Emerald Downs which brought fans, horsemen, and horses from the old track together again to reminisce. Photographer Tina Hines was there to capture the moment.
