Queen's Plate Entries
Queen's Plate Entries
Dateline: 6/20/02

Results, photos, and more!

Entries were drawn and post positions selected this morning for the 143nd running of the Queen's Plate, the oldest continuously run stakes race in North America. A field of 14 horses was entered with Plate Trial winner Shaws Creek made a lukewarm morning line favorite at 3-1. For the first time a new rule was used that allows horses with the same ownership to run uncoupled in races of $1 million or more, so the two horses from Sam-Son Farm will run as separate betting interests.

Post time for the Queen's Plate is Sunday at 5:07pm ET as the ninth race on the card at Woodbine. It will be shown live on Sportsnet in Canada from 4:00 - 5:30pm ET and online from Woodbine's website. Free past performances are available from Daily Racing Form.

Below are the entries for the Queen's Plate. Distance is 1 1/4 miles, purse is $1,000,000, and all horses carry 126 pounds. Click the horse's name to see full info on him including a photo.
