A close finish with Perfect Sting on the outside and Ronda on the inside. Jerry Bailey said: "I wanted to get her out before the top of the stretch but there was nowhere to go. I left her with a lot to do, but she certainly responded."

Ronda in the post parade. Her trainer, Angel Penna Jr., said: "I think she lost the race at the 16th pole when she changed leads and switched paths to move away from the cameras. Still, I'm pleased with her race. She ran a tremendous race. We got beat by the best grass filly on the East Coast."
Terreavigne in the post parade with Jose Santos up. She set the early pace but faded badly in the stretch.
