The weather was great and the horses were beautiful as the second largest crowd in Derby history of 151,051 showed up to watch D. Wayne Lukas win the Derby for a fourth time. The victory was especially sweet to jockey Chris Antley who made his comeback to riding earlier this year after battling drug abuse and weight problems.
Charismatic rallied from mid-pack to score by a neck over a fast closing Menifee and stablemate Cat Thief who prompted the pace throughout. The favorite at 4.80-1 was Baffert's entry of General Challenge and Excellent Meeting who finished 11th and 5th respectively.

After the races, we crashed the winner's party in the Derby Museum and met winning jockey Chris Antley who was nice enough to pose for a photo for me. Turns out he is a fan of my website and knew who I was!
