Updated: 04/29/2003
The Kentucky Derby preps are over now, so it is time to take a look at the graded stakes earnings for the top contenders. If more than 20 horses enter the Kentucky Derby, the top 20 by graded stakes earnings are the ones who get in the field, so this can be very important for some lightly raced contenders. Below is a list of the current top contenders ranked in descending order by graded stakes earnings. Each horse has a link to his profile for more details and a blue line follows the 20th horse. Updated to include the earnings through 4/20. Although 21 horses are currently listed, several are highly unlikely to enter with a field of 18 currently expected now that Kafwain is out.
