Eclipse Award Poll
Dateline: 01/04/01
The finalists for the 2000 Eclipse Awards were announced today by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, National Turf Writers Association, and the Daily Racing Form. Winners for each category will be named at the Eclipse Awards dinner on January 30th in New Orleans, Louisiana. Kona Gold came out as a finalist in three categories: Older Male, Sprinter, and Horse of the Year. He was unanimously selected as Champion Sprinter based on his record of 5 wins (all graded stakes including the Breeders' Cup Sprint) in 6 starts in 2000 with earnings of $1,042,630.
Below is a list of all the finalists in alphabetical order plus a poll for each category where you can vote for who you think should win. Results from the pre-finalist voting are also linked (where available) under each category to compare to the actual finalist lists.
