Terrain euthanized

Saturday June 27, 2009
He was the even money favorite in the Iowa Derby on June 26, but broke down and was pulled up on the backstretch, then vanned off. It was found he had broken sesamoid bones in his right front ankle and a condylar fracture of the cannon bone of his leg, and he had to be euthanized. His trainer Al Stall Jr. said that the bones were so severely shattered there was no way he could be saved. Rest in peace Terrain!
