2007 Horse of the Year Curlin made his debut in the 2008 Man o'War (G1) at Belmont Park, prepping for a possible trip to the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in October. However, 2006 Breeders' Cup Turf winner Red Rocks denied him, winning by 2 lengths over the good turf. 2004 Breeders' Cup Turf winner Better Talk Now came from far back to get third.
