Sam Rubin, owner of John Henry, dies

Sam Rubin who bought John Henry in 1978 for $25,000 and raced him until 1984 when he retired with earnings of over $6.5 million has died in Florida at age 91. He raced John Henry until age 9 when he was retired after his second Horse of the Year title. For more on Rubin, check this article from the BloodHorse.com.
