Wild Desert wins the 2005 Queen's Plate

Off since an 8th place finish behind Afleet Alex in the Arkansas Derby in April, Wild Desert made his return to the races a winning one in the 146th Queen's Plate. Although he started on the US Triple Crown trail, the Ontario-bred instead took the first leg of the Canadian Triple Crown. King of Jazz was second and the filly Gold Strike faded to third.
