Gallant was an upset winner in the 2009 Prince of Wales Stakes, second leg of Canada's Triple Crown, defeating Woodbine Oaks winner and favorite Milwaukee Appeal by a narrow nose after they battled almost the entire distance. Gio Ponti won his third Grade 1 stakes race in a row Saturday when he took the Man O'War Stakes (G1) on the turf at Belmont Park by 1 3/4 lengths over Musketier with Quijano another 1/2 length back in third. Saturday in the Dwyer Stakes (G2) Kensei won with favorite Warrior's Reward third, while Sunday in the 2009 Tom Fool Handicap (G2) Munnings (left) won easily against only three rivals.
